We asked our service user focus group what was important to them about the people who support them, and this is what they told us...
"I need to be able to trust you"
"Speak up for me if needed"
"Use your common sense"
"Know how to find things out"
"Value who I am and the things I can do"
"Be polite with me... Please"
"Listen to me and accept what I'm saying"
"Be patient and show an interest in me"
"Sit up and take notice"
"Work at my pace and walk at my pace"
"Ask how I want to be supported"
"Don't take over my support. Remember that my support time is my time"
